Cinnamon and Second Chances

When a stolen recipe brings her face-to-face with the man she left behind, will love rise again with the morning sun?

Rookie cop Callie Navarro has been back in Honey Mesa for only a month when a midnight alarm sends her to the one place she never wanted to see again—Blessings Bakery. Inside, she finds trays overturned and Tanner Lawson, the rodeo charmer she once loved and left. Forced to work with him to catch the thief after his award‑winning cinnamon rolls, Callie can’t dodge the memories—or the sparks—that come rushing back. By sunrise, she must face the truth about why she really ran and decide if she’ll keep guarding her heart or trust the God who brought her home to a second chance at love.

Moving Forward

“Could your life be put on display as an advertisement for the Gospel?” Linda Martinez replayed her pastor’s words from that very morning as she strolled on the soft sand of Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Despite growing up in church and having served faithfully most of her adult life, the question makes her dig deep and confront the issues in her marriage.

Her forehead wrinkled in concentration as she stirred the ingredients. “Did you and Mom bake together too?”

“Yes, all the time. And we especially enjoyed these treats during the Christmas season. They’re my favorite.”

“Why do you like polvorones so much?” Curious eyes watched me as I dusted flour off my apron…

The Finish Line

“On your marks. Get set. Go!”

At the announcer’s last word, Cassandra Quintana rockets from the start line. Her feet pound the pavement to the beat of the Christian song playing through her earbuds. Right now, she has only one goal—to win this 10K run. Despite the grief breaking her heart, she’s determined to bring a medal home because she promised. Lord, please help me.

With each stride, images of her mother’s once youthful face, now gaunt and pale, intrude on her mind…
